Job Requirements

  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully
  • availability to work evenings and weekends including Saturdays
  • willingness to work in a full-service restaurant environment
  • ability to use restaurant equipment such as point of sale and reservation management systems
  • ability to stand and walk frequently throughout shift
  • capability to lift and move up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • must be able to manage guest seating and waiting lists
  • physical stamina to perform active duties including stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling

Job Duties

  • Greets and seats guests, presents menus to guests, informs them of special catch and soups
  • treats all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction
  • takes names on a waiting list
  • runs the floor plan board
  • observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables
  • takes guest information and quotes wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available
  • responsible for distribution of parking vouchers and monitoring coat check
  • cleans and organizes the host closet
  • cleans, organizes and stocks menus at host area
  • answers phone and answers questions concerning the menu and restaurant
  • answers phone and takes orders pertaining to room service
  • interacts with guests as they arrive and as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience
  • maintains restrooms throughout shift
  • sweeps foyer and front entrance area frequently
  • keeps windows and wine wall clean
  • maintains and updates the information wall
  • performs other duties as directed
