Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in government affairs or public policy
  • Experience with state and local government relations
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Willingness to travel up to 40 percent of the time

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Advanced degree a plus
  • At least 5 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or related fields
  • Direct experience working with or within state and local governments, particularly in transportation or infrastructure sectors
  • Strong project management skills with proven success leading cross-functional initiatives
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities
  • Demonstrated experience managing consultants, partnerships, or interagency collaborations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working collaboratively across disciplines

Job Duties

  • Develop and execute government engagement strategies across priority East Coast regions
  • Build and maintain relationships with state and local elected officials, transportation agencies, and community leaders
  • Monitor legislation, regulatory activity, and policy trends relevant to Joby’s business interests
  • Coordinate meetings, briefings, and site visits with public officials and key stakeholders
  • Contribute to policy analysis, briefing materials, and presentations
  • Collaborate across Joby teams including air operations, business development, marketing and communications, and legal
  • Represent Joby at key events, association meetings, conferences, and public forums
  • Serve as project manager for Joby’s eIPP application to the FAA
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan, task tracker, and submission timeline
  • Coordinate inputs across engineering, policy, legal, finance, operations, and executive leadership teams
  • Support partnership formation for public-private collaborations
  • Compile and assemble all application materials ensuring compliance with FAA requirements
  • Provide weekly written progress reports and bi-weekly executive briefings
  • Deliver a complete internal draft of the application and ensure final submission by deadlines
