Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in customer service or retail preferred
- Ability to operate coffee shop equipment and adhere to food safety standards
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work cooperatively within a team
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks

Job Duties
- Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure the customer's return visit
- Treat customers and employees in a fair and ethical manner, promoting an inclusive work environment
- Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products
- Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company and store goals
- Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and to customer requests using proper equipment
- Tender transactions using company best practices
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products for which they inquire about
- Inform customers of coffee shop specials
- Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink
- Recommend coffee shop items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need
- Use all equipment in coffee shop such as the refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines
- Prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- Check product quality to ensure freshness
- Review sell by dates and take appropriate actions
- Properly use kitchen equipment, espresso machine, blender, computerized scale and steamer
- Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
- Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents
- Report all safety risks, issues or illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud to store management
- Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
- Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
