Job Duties
- Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment
- Treat customers and employees in a fair and ethical manner
- Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated
- Answer questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department
- Respond to questions and make suggestions about products
- Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve company and store goals
- Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and to customer requests
- Tender transactions using company best practices
- Offer product samples to customers
- Inform customers of coffee shop specials
- Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes
- Recommend coffee shop items to customers
- Use coffee shop equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens, espresso machines, blenders, computerized scales, and steamers according to guidelines
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager
- Check product quality and review 'sell by' dates
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures and identifying unsafe conditions
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment
- Notify management of accidents, safety risks, and illegal activities
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner
- Act with honesty and integrity
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
