Job Duties

  • Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure customer return
  • Treat customers and employees fairly and ethically while promoting an inclusive work environment
  • Provide the right products at the right time with fair and accurate pricing
  • Demonstrate company core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety
  • Answer customer questions and make product suggestions within the department and store
  • Prepare beverage selections and food items to recipe and customer requests using proper equipment
  • Tender transactions using company best practices
  • Offer product samples and inform customers about store specials
  • Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
  • Recommend coffee shop items to meet customer needs
  • Use all coffee shop equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines
  • Prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients and merchandise
  • Check product quality for freshness and review sell by dates
  • Properly use kitchen equipment including espresso machines, blenders, scales and steamers
  • Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
  • Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to management
  • Stay current with product ads and promotions
  • Reinforce safety programs, comply with procedures, identify unsafe conditions and notify management
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and notify managers of needed repairs
  • Report customer or employee accidents, safety risks or illegal activity
  • Work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
  • Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
