Job Requirements

  • Knowledge normally acquired from specialized training such as that acquired in one year of college, technical, vocational, trade or business school
  • one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in performing tasks related to the area of employment
  • requires one to three years supervisory experience
  • or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Qualifications

  • Experience and education in management
  • ability to work in extremely fast paced, highly mobile student guest environment
  • previous work in team management setting
  • prior experience creating partner and vendor win-win relationships
  • experience with point-of sale system, employee scheduling and basic human resources functions
  • preferred Starbucks certification in the area of employment

Job Duties

  • Manage multiple Starbucks locations in Culinary Services on campus
  • maintain guest service and quality standards by utilizing Residential and Hospitality Services values
  • assist in staffing
  • prepare special and periodic financial reports and maintain unit records
  • forecast needs and order product to maintain inventory levels
  • serve as a liaison with guests, vendors, and University departments and partners
  • maintain health and safety standards in all operations
  • maintain Starbucks brand standards and compliance
  • assist and oversee student and support employees in executing various Barista roles according to Starbucks standards and policies
  • train to be Barista certified with ongoing Starbucks certifications
  • learn and craft over 100 food and beverage codes and recipes
  • maintain brand specific equipment
  • manage retail and food store ordering through various vendors
  • upkeep frozen and dry inventory and stock in accordance with health, safety, and Starbucks quality standards
