Job Requirements
- Must be able to physically perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently, and 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- must have clarity of vision at a distance of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet with or without correction
- must have color vision, depth perception and field of vision
- must be able to perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- ability to maintain punctual attendance
- ability to adhere to company and department guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress
- successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen
Job Qualifications
- Less than high school education or equivalent experience
- six months or less of similar or related work experience
- ability to carry out simple written or verbal instructions
- ability to do simple math operations such as addition and subtraction
- ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
- strong customer service skills
- effective communication skills
- ability to work collaboratively with a team
- knowledge of food safety practices
Job Duties
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
- smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner
- makes an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name whenever possible
- assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach products, loading or unloading heavy items, noting and passing along customer requests
- answers the telephone promptly and provides helpful service including taking customer orders
- takes customer orders at the counter
- works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
- handles food in a safe manner and ensures the work area is always clean and neat
- reviews the status and appearance of the food for freshness
- ensures adequate food supply is ready and follows a production list
- anticipates product needs daily
- prepares and replenishes products
- checks in products, puts product away, may review invoices
- runs department registers, receives payment and makes change where applicable
- removes trash in a timely manner
- maintains strict adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines
- adheres to company policies and store guidelines
- reports to work when scheduled and on time
