Job Requirements
- Must be able to physically perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly to move objects
- Visual clarity of vision at more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet with or without correction
- Color vision, depth perception, and field of vision required
- Ability to perform physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Must be available to report to work when scheduled and on time
Job Qualifications
- Less than high school education or equivalent experience
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience
- Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
- Ability to do simple addition and subtraction
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
- Ability to write identifying information and request supplies orally or in writing
Job Duties
- Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions
- Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner
- Make an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name whenever possible
- Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach products, loading or unloading heavy items, noting and passing along customer suggestions or requests, and performing other tasks to enhance shopping experience
- Answer telephone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service including taking customer orders
- Take customer orders at the counter
- Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
- Handle food in a safe manner and ensure the work area is always clean and neat
- Review the status and appearance of food for freshness
- Ensure adequate food supply is ready and on hand following production list
- Anticipate product needs for the department daily
- Prepare and replenish products as necessary
- Check in products, put product away, and review invoices as needed
- Run department registers and handle payments where applicable
- Remove trash in a timely manner
- Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines
- Adhere to company policies and individual store guidelines
- Report to work as scheduled and on time
- Wash dishes as necessary
- Order products and supplies
- Price products for customers
- Assist in other store areas
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required
