Job Requirements

  • Less than high school education or equivalent experience
  • six months or less of similar or related work experience
  • ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
  • ability to do simple addition and subtraction
  • ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
  • physical ability to perform medium work including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • capability to perform activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • availability to work night and weekend shifts
  • adherence to personal hygiene and dress standards
  • must pass pre-employment drug screening

Job Duties

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
  • smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee's designated department or elsewhere in the store
  • makes an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name whenever possible
  • assists customers by escorting them to products, securing products out of reach, loading/unloading heavy items, passing along customer suggestions
  • answers the telephone promptly and provides helpful service including taking orders
  • takes customer orders at the counter
  • works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and pleasant work environment
  • handles food safely and maintains a clean, neat work area
  • reviews status and appearance of food for freshness
  • ensures adequate food supply is ready and follows production list
  • anticipates product needs daily
  • prepares and replenishes product
  • checks in product, puts it away, and may review invoices
  • runs department registers and processes payments, makes change
  • removes trash timely
  • maintains strict adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines
  • adheres to company policies and reports to work timely
  • washes dishes as necessary
  • orders products and supplies
  • prices products as necessary
  • assists in other store areas as needed
  • performs other job-related duties and special projects as required
