Job Requirements
- Minimum age of 16 years
- ability to stand frequently and perform physical tasks including reaching, bending, crouching, kneeling, balancing
- ability to push or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally
- consistent attendance and punctuality
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work flexible shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends
- adherence to sanitation and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- Previous barista experience preferred
- any combination of education, training, or experience providing required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- ability to perform simple reading, writing, math, and task completion
- skills in compiling, coordination, following instructions, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making
- flexible availability including holidays, nights, and weekends
- minimum age of 16 years
Job Duties
- Welcomes guests by determining their coffee interests and needs
- educates guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu and answering questions
- sells coffee and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and preparation machines and demonstrating brewing equipment operation
- prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and techniques
- maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supplies, stocking equipment, and maintaining supplies for coffee bar
- keeps equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing maintenance, and calling for repairs
- maintains safe and healthy work environment by adhering to standards and sanitation regulations
- improves quality results by studying, evaluating, redesigning processes, implementing changes, and maintaining store and coffee bar appearance
- enhances coffee shop reputation by taking ownership of new requests and adding value to accomplishments
- operates the POS system for at least half of the shift
- performs daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks
- assists with monthly deep cleaning
- performs any other duties within scope of position
