Job Requirements
- Minimum age of 16 years
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, reaching, bending, crouching, kneeling, balancing
- Ability to push/pull up to 50lbs occasionally
- Ability to frequently use both hands and finger dexterity
- Ability to use vision including distance, depth perception, field and color vision
- Availability to work flexible shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends
- Must meet attendance requirements for timely task completion
Job Qualifications
- Previous barista experience preferred
- Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Ability to follow instructions and use independent judgment
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills
- Age minimum of 16 years
Job Duties
- Welcomes guests by determining their coffee interests and needs
- Educate guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu, answering questions
- Sells coffee and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines
- Preparing and selling coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques such as espresso lungo, caffe latte, and cappuccino
- Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply
- stocking coffee brewing equipment
- maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions
- troubleshooting breakdowns
- maintaining supplies
- performing preventive maintenance
- calling for repairs
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
- Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes
- implementing changes
- maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar
- Enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests
- exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Operates the POS (Point of Sale) for half of shift, 4 hours minimally
- Performs daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks
- Assist with monthly breakdown of store for deep cleaning
- Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position
