Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum age of 16 years
  • ability to deal with customers and coworkers in a tactful and respectful manner

Job Qualifications

  • Previous Barista experience preferred
  • high school diploma or GED required
  • possess excellent communication skills, both in written and oral form
  • ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with guests, employees and supervisors
  • ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • excellent time management, problem solving and organizational skills
  • ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure and calculate figures and amounts
  • flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate
  • must be a minimum of 16 years of age
  • dedicated to meeting and/or exceeding the expectations and requirements of internal and external clients

Job Duties

  • Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs
  • educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu and answering questions
  • sells coffees and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines and demonstrating how brewing equipment operates
  • prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks such as espresso, espresso lungo, caffe latte, and cappuccino
  • maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply, stocking coffee brewing equipment, maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar
  • keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
  • maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
  • improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes, implementing changes, maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar
  • enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • operates the POS (Point of Sale) for half of shift, 4 hours minimally
  • performs daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks
  • assist with monthly breakdown of store for deep cleaning
