Job Requirements

  • Minimum of twelve months of clinical experience in behavioral health
  • Minimum of 12 months clinical nursing experience as a registered nurse
  • Current Indiana license as registered nurse
  • Must have valid Indiana driver’s license
  • Ability to meet basic competencies including cpi, cpr, annual education, age related, mental status exam, medications, dsm iv, addictions, legal

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Registered Nurse with current Indiana license
  • Minimum of 12 months clinical nursing experience
  • Experience in behavioral health nursing
  • Strong skills in health assessment, teaching, and counseling
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of disease processes, medication use and side effects
  • Ability to provide age-appropriate care from pediatric to geriatric patients
  • Familiarity with the Recovery Model of treatment
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Professional judgment and flexibility in stressful situations

Job Duties

  • Perform nursing services as a health team member in outreach clinics
  • Provide health education and patient counseling to control and prevent disease and promote optimum health and wellbeing of clients
  • Respond to health needs of patients by identifying and assessing healthcare requirements
  • Assist physicians and other team members in clinics
  • Develop and implement nursing care interventions based on care plans
  • Refer clients to appropriate agencies to promote continuity of care
  • Collaborate with physicians and health professionals to implement treatments and administer medications
  • Counsel clients and families in health education and medication instructions
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in peer reviews
  • Complete and submit internal nursing audits regularly
