Job Description
The Staff Accountant role at Music and Event Management Inc. offers an excellent opportunity for accounting professionals to join a dynamic finance team supporting nonprofit arts organizations. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive accounting support including managing the accounts payable process through Beanworks, processing payroll entries, credit card reconciliations, and performing month-end reconciliations on assigned subsidiary companies. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant experience
- 0-3 years of related experience
- experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar software
- knowledge of Ticketmaster One
- high-level use/knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred
- knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles preferred
- cooperative attitude and willingness to learn
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time to meet deadlines
- ability to work autonomously and problem solve with minimal supervision
- capable of discerning and maintaining confidentiality of information
- ability to organize, evaluate, and present information effectively
- nonprofit experience preferred

Job Duties
- Provide overall accounting for assigned subsidiary companies and partner organizations
- complete accounting functions in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures
- prepare, review and enter daily cash receipts and prepare invoices as needed
- enter invoices within Beanworks and ensure timely vendor payments
- enter payroll entries including wages and taxes allocations
- perform monthly close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations and issue resolution
- prepare and file various Federal, State and Local government reporting and payment forms
- maintain clean, secure and well-maintained work area
- maintain corporate documentation, correspondence, insurance and financial files systematically
- support the mission, vision and values of the organization
- perform other duties as assigned
