Job Requirements

  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent certification
  • minimum of 3 years progressive experience in culinary or kitchen management
  • demonstrated experience in cost control and menu development
  • proficiency in catering and high volume foodservice operations
  • strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to supervise and lead a culinary team
  • excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to participate in patient satisfaction initiatives

Job Qualifications

  • A.O.S. degree in Culinary Arts or culinary certificate and required experience
  • some progressive culinary or kitchen management experience depending upon formal degree or training
  • catering experience a plus
  • high volume complex foodservice operations experience highly desirable
  • institutional and batch cooking experience helpful
  • comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • experienced with computers including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Outlook, E-mail and Internet
  • willingness to participate in patient satisfaction programs and activities
  • ServSafe certified highly desirable

Job Duties

  • Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and control expenditures for the account
  • assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus
  • produce and execute catering events
  • roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with company marketing and culinary team
  • supervise hourly associates in food preparation and cooking
  • develop daily menu items and their preparation and garnishment
  • assist with ordering and inventory management
