Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Quality and Food Safety
  • Total of nine years of relevant experience if substituting for degree
  • Knowledge of CA Quality and Food Safety Regulations
  • Ability to create reports and analyze data
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis and suggest solutions
  • Ability to manage teams and oversee departments
  • Willingness to travel minimally between facilities

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge of food laws and regulations
  • Experience in risk assessment and root cause analysis
  • Familiarity with CA Quality and Food Safety Regulations and Protocols
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques and procedures in the food industry
  • Knowledge of pest control programs
  • Ability to create reports and analyze data
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience in building and conducting training programs for QA and operations teams
  • Ability to focus on operational excellence and team building
  • Ability to identify issues and provide solutions

Job Duties

  • Assist in developing and implementing food safety policies and procedures
  • Create and implement inspection criteria for food quality and safety
  • Coordinate quality objective goals with production
  • Maintain and review quality and food safety documentation
  • Supervise Quality and Sanitation Departments including hiring, training, scheduling, and employee discipline
  • Provide support and direction to employees
  • Maintain certifications and accreditations for regulatory agencies
  • Lead internal quality audits, customer quality audits, and regulatory inspections
  • Coordinate annual GSFI and customer audits
  • Perform facility inspections, traceability exercises, and mock recalls
  • Communicate with management and other departments to ensure product quality
  • Follow safe work practices and comply with all relevant safety regulations
  • Oversee Quality and Food Safety at multiple locations
