Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Expert experience in substance abuse case management
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance
  • Familiarity with DOT/FAA drug and alcohol regulations
  • Ability to work in Dallas, TX headquarters during business hours
  • U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to be on call to provide 24-hour service including some holidays and weekends
  • Ability to perform work duties from a limited space desk or office for extended periods
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must comply with company attendance standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Expert level experience in case management in substance abuse and/or social crisis programs
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory compliance environments
  • In-depth understanding of DOT and FAA drug and alcohol regulations
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a complex organizational structure
  • Strong communication skills with ability to articulate information clearly
  • Demonstrated experience with contract negotiation and administration
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate high emotional intelligence

Job Duties

  • Oversee and guide the Flight Operations FAA Medical HIMS Program and Pilot Specific Benefit Programs
  • Act as the company representative and intermediary to the FAA Office of Aerospace Medicine for pilot medical licensing and HIMS Program
  • Provide guidance on medical disqualification criteria and personnel management for pilots
  • Work with physicians on program management, support, and treatment options
  • Provide counsel to Base Chief Pilots, union counterparts, and company drug and alcohol teams during HIMS Program enrollment and recertification
  • Assist pilots with medical, DUI, and arrest issues affecting FAA medical licensing
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with treatment facilities for program participation
  • Serve as subject matter expert on employee drug and alcohol treatment plans
  • Liaise with internal drug and alcohol program teams regarding Flight Operations employees
  • Coordinate medical oversight for pilots on inactive or extended medical leave
  • Support contract administration in evaluating benefits for long-term disability and leave programs
  • Assist in evaluating medical service providers and negotiating contracts
  • Perform other duties as directed by leadership
