Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Customs and Trade
  • Licensed Customs Broker preferred
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of US, Canada, and Mexico import/export regulations
  • Ability to manage government audits and interactions
  • Skilled in compliance risk identification and mitigation
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Excellent mentorship and team development abilities

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Customs and Trade, including strategic leadership roles
  • Licensed Customs Broker preferred
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Familiarity with import and export regulations for US, Canada, and Mexico
  • Knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule for US, Canada, and Mexico
  • Strong understanding of valuation, country of origin determination, and free trade qualification
  • Experience with compliance programs related to UFLPA and ADCVD
  • Ability in continuous process improvement and risk mitigation strategies

Job Duties

  • Lead and oversee strategic Customs and Trade operations across global markets
  • Ensure comprehensive import and export compliance, including classification, country of origin determination, free trade agreement qualification, UFLPA, documentation, valuation, recordkeeping, and broker management
  • Identify and implement favorable programs such as duty drawback and FTZ
  • Proactively identify and mitigate compliance risks, implement corrective actions, and report to executive leadership
  • Manage high-level interactions with government entities (CBP, CBSA, SAT), including audits, rulings, and regulatory reviews
  • Monitor global regulatory developments and lead strategic responses to emerging risks such as ADCVD/SIMA
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration and lead enterprise-wide Customs and Trade training initiatives
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Customs and Trade Specialists, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
