Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Degree in hospitality or event management preferred
  • Eight to ten years experience in meeting and event planning
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation required
  • Five to eight years experience in corporate travel
  • Knowledge of travel industry trends
  • Experience with hotel and event vendor contract negotiations
  • Experience managing budgets and billing
  • Five to eight years experience in audio visual and production management
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • High level of personal and professional ethics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Concur or other travel systems
  • Ability to travel up to 25-30 days annually

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Degree in hospitality or event management preferred
  • Eight to ten years experience in meeting and/or event planning for complex association or government industry events
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation required
  • Experience in corporate travel environment
  • Knowledge of travel industry trends
  • Experience with contract negotiations for hotel and event vendors
  • Experience with budget reconciliation
  • Audio visual and production management experience
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Concur or other travel booking systems
  • Ability to travel up to 25-30 days annually

Job Duties

  • Provide strategic support to the Travel & Events Director
  • Manage logistics, oversight, and communications for meetings and events
  • Conduct site research and selection for meetings
  • Negotiate contracts with hotels and event vendors
  • Manage meeting execution both offsite and onsite
  • Oversee meeting and event budgets
  • Lead cross-functional teams involved in events and travel planning
