Job Requirements
- bachelor's degree or above
- 7+ years of experience in safety and environmental programs
- 7+ years of employee and performance management experience
- experience implementing lean principles and process improvement
- CPR/First Aid certification
- willingness to work various shifts including nights and weekends
- ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- office within one of the designated region's sites or willingness to relocate
Job Qualifications
- 7+ years of increasingly responsible roles in safety and/or environmental programs within manufacturing, production, service operations, or other relevant experience
- experience in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, service operations, or related fields
- bachelor's degree or above
- 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience
- 7+ years of employee and performance management experience
- experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment
- CPR/First Aid certification
- willingness to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends, as required to support direct reports and site needs
- ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Job Duties
- Possess a thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and company policies
- provide guidance and oversight to assure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS policies
- measure the regions and sites’ performance against published requirements in WHS policies and identify improvement plans for the site to close all identified gaps
- ensure WHS record keeping and data integrity and provide operations with accurate reporting (lead and lag) metrics to support business WHS initiatives
- deliver projects on time to a high standard with operations
- analyse WHS metrics to identify trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the safety risk is highest
- analyse global safety peer review results and develop and implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury at other sites
- ensure site leadership and associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy
- audit the quality, delivery (including qualifications of the trainer), and effectiveness of all required WHS training
- ensure WHS talent is developed and their thinking is challenged to be constantly at the front of professional practice
- review the effectiveness of deployed WHS tools so they are simplified for use and are adding value
- partner with corporate and other regional field WHS personnel to leverage global WHS best practices into Air network standards
