Job Requirements

  • Holder of valid and current Food Handler Certification
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • basic knowledge of health and safety rules
  • ability to multitask and work quickly in a team
  • good communication skills
  • flexibility and adaptability to work effectively under stress
  • ability to take direction
  • self-motivated and organized
  • non-slip shoes required

Job Qualifications

  • Previous line cook experience
  • 1-4 years high volume food service experience, preferably in larger innovative corporate programs
  • approachable with a service orientated mentality

Job Duties

  • Prepares and cooks to order foods requiring short preparation time
  • reads food order or receives verbal instructions on food required by patron and prepares and cooks food according to instructions
  • performs made to order cooking and grill cooking duties in preparing food items to be served to customers
  • follows basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuffs
  • prepares foods by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits and vegetables, trimming and cutting meat, poultry or fish
  • tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps records to plan production requirements and requisition supplies
  • may select recipes per menu cycle, prepare bakery items, receive inventory, move and lift food items and supplies, prepare meals for special diets
  • cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment
  • sets steam tables and ensures proper serving of food
