Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in aviation safety, flight operations or operational control role
  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot or Aircraft Dispatcher License
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time
  • Ability to exert up to 10 lbs of force occasionally to move objects
  • 100% onsite work
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 121 operations and regulatory guidance preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in aviation safety, flight operations, or operational control role
  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot or Aircraft Dispatcher License
  • IOSA Auditor Certification (preferred)
  • Experience in 14 CFR Part 121 air carrier operations and safety (preferred)
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge and experience with regulatory guidance (preferred)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with little supervision

Job Duties

  • Monitor the effectiveness of Flight Operations and OCC operational division quality assurance programs through observations of audits and auditors
  • Identify and monitor critical systems within Flight Operations and OCC divisions
  • Conduct audits and internal evaluations using standardized audit checklists and review of regulations, policies, procedures, and controls
  • Document, manage, and track formal Corrective Action Process through acceptance and final closure
  • Ensure hazards identified in audits and evaluations are managed according to Spirit Airlines Safety Management System
  • Prepare IEP Evaluation briefings and reports
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of Spirit Airlines operations manuals and Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Manager, Internal Evaluations
  • Adhere to the published IEP Audit and Evaluation schedule
  • Analyze non-conformities and hazards to determine trends and identify solutions for recurring issues
  • Provide support ensuring ongoing compliance with IOSA ISARPS
  • Assist in mentoring and training Operational Division auditors
  • Communicate promptly and effectively with management regarding operational, regulatory, and safety concerns
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with divisional and external customers
  • Work autonomously handling multiple projects
  • Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally to move objects
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time
  • Ensure audits and evaluations are conducted with confidentiality, professionalism, and objectivity
