Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of customer-facing experience in food service, hospitality or retail
- Ability to read, write and understand English instructions
- Basic computer literacy
- Flexibility to work across UCSF Medical Center locations
- Physical capability to perform job duties
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of customer-facing experience within food service, hospitality or retail industries
- Ability to read, write, follow written or oral instructions and be understood in English
- Basic computer skills
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
- Ability to meet physical demands involved with job duties
- Preferred two years of college or equivalent
- Preferred State of California Food Handler certification or Servsafe certification
Job Duties
- Provide food service that is safe, accurate, timely and responsive to customer and patient needs
- Stock, assemble, and serve portion controlled hot and cold food
- Replenish and stock stations
- Clean and sanitize food service areas and equipment in a safe manner
- Perform retail food service duties including serving, cashiering, bussing, and barista tasks
- Assemble and deliver patient meal trays
- Set up, serve, and clean up catering events across UCSF Health sites
- Conduct detailed kitchen equipment deep cleaning, floor cleaning, waste sorting and removal, dishroom and potroom duties
- Receive, rotate, stock, and issue food and supplies
- Maintain vendor relationships
- Handle cash, credit card and debit card transactions
- Provide excellent customer, patient, and staff interactions acting as an ambassador for the department
