Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of customer-facing experience in food service, hospitality or retail
  • Ability to read, write and understand English instructions
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Flexibility to work across UCSF Medical Center locations
  • Physical capability to perform job duties

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer-facing experience within food service, hospitality or retail industries
  • Ability to read, write, follow written or oral instructions and be understood in English
  • Basic computer skills
  • Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
  • Ability to meet physical demands involved with job duties
  • Preferred two years of college or equivalent
  • Preferred State of California Food Handler certification or Servsafe certification

Job Duties

  • Provide food service that is safe, accurate, timely and responsive to customer and patient needs
  • Stock, assemble, and serve portion controlled hot and cold food
  • Replenish and stock stations
  • Clean and sanitize food service areas and equipment in a safe manner
  • Perform retail food service duties including serving, cashiering, bussing, and barista tasks
  • Assemble and deliver patient meal trays
  • Set up, serve, and clean up catering events across UCSF Health sites
  • Conduct detailed kitchen equipment deep cleaning, floor cleaning, waste sorting and removal, dishroom and potroom duties
  • Receive, rotate, stock, and issue food and supplies
  • Maintain vendor relationships
  • Handle cash, credit card and debit card transactions
  • Provide excellent customer, patient, and staff interactions acting as an ambassador for the department
