Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of customer-facing experience in food service, hospitality, or retail industries
  • Ability to read, write, follow written or oral instructions, and be understood in English
  • Basic computer skills
  • Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
  • Ability to meet physical demands involved with job duties
  • Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and variable shifts

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of customer-facing experience in food service, hospitality, or retail
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and communicate effectively in English
  • Preferred: Two years of college or equivalent
  • Preferred: State of California Food Handler certification or Servsafe certification

Job Duties

  • Provide safe, accurate, and timely patient food service
  • Stock and serve portion-controlled hot and cold food
  • Replenish service stations and restock workstations
  • Assemble, deliver, and collect patient trays
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work stations and equipment
  • Provide excellent patient and nursing interactions
  • Represent the Nutrition and Food Services department as an ambassador
