Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in food science, microbiology, or related field
- Minimum 7 years of relevant FSQA experience
- PCQI and HACCP certification required
- Experience with supplier qualification and site audits
- Knowledge of FDA, USDA, FSMA, and other regulatory standards
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to lead HACCP, HARPC, and preventive control programs
- Experience managing certification programs
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%
- English fluency required
- Spanish language skills preferred
Job Qualifications
- BS or MS in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field
- 8-10+ years of progressive FSQA experience in food manufacturing or CPG
- PCQI and HACCP certification required
- SQF/BRC auditor credentials preferred
- Experience leading audits, recalls, and certification programs
- Expertise in FDA, FSMA, USDA, Prop 65, and global food regulations
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and QA systems
- Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and work independently
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%
- English proficiency required
- Spanish proficiency a plus
Job Duties
- Develop and execute FSQA strategy aligned with brand values and business objectives
- Establish and monitor KPIs for food safety, quality, and compliance
- Manage supplier qualification, risk assessments, and verification programs
- Oversee co-packer performance and compliance with regulatory standards
- Conduct site audits and third-party evaluations
- Lead HACCP, HARPC, and Preventive Controls programs
- Manage analytical and microbiological testing programs
- Oversee certification programs and liaise with certifying bodies
- Maintain recall readiness and serve as Recall Coordinator
- Partner with Legal, Marketing, and Regulatory teams to validate product claims
- Ensure FSQA systems are documented and audit ready
- Manage document control, allergen management, and ingredient approvals
- Conduct risk assessments for new products and packaging
- Support digital traceability and sustainability data initiatives
- Evaluate consumer and customer feedback to identify quality trends
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
- Track and report FSQA metrics
- Collaborate with Product Development, Operations, Supply Chain, Legal, Marketing, and Sales teams
- Perform duties as assigned by management
