Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical or systems engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 15 years engineering experience in aerospace flight test
  • Minimum 10 years leadership and management experience in flight test or engineering
  • Minimum 5 years management in transnational and multicultural organizations preferred
  • Flight Test Qualification as TP/FTE2 from recognized institution preferred
  • Knowledge of flight test operations
  • Experience managing highly technical teams
  • Knowledge of A220 or A320 systems
  • Demonstrated leadership in matrix project-based environments
  • Advanced knowledge of Airbus industrial processes and airworthiness requirements
  • Knowledge of EASA and TCCA flight operations regulations
  • Strong strategic planning and process development skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage in a complex matrix organization
  • Ability to coach employees
  • Strong analysis and synthesis skills in problem diagnosis
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • On-site work required
  • 20-30% domestic and international travel required
  • Private Pilot License preferred
  • Airbus TP/FTE/GTE qualification preferred
  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business Management preferred
  • Prior Airbus management experience in flight operations preferred

Job Duties

  • Manage all ground tests and flight tests required to obtain Certificate of Airworthiness and customer acceptance of production aircraft
  • Coordinate with the Customer Line organization, including planning, to manage resources in order to achieve daily objectives
  • Manage day-to-day operations to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly industrial targets
  • Participate in inter-company activities such as improvement, AOS, digital transformation
  • Establish, maintain updates and enforce the compliance of Flight Test Operations with Flight Operations Manual, Ground Operations Method, and Safety Management System manual
  • Define and implement performance metrics and corrective measures for Flight Test activities
  • Create and implement resource and capability development strategies including recruitment, training, and performance management
  • Provide leadership to sustain an efficient, inclusive, and diverse engineering team promoting Airbus values
  • Manage financial performance of the Flight Test Engineering organization including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Support other Airbus directorates on operational matters and customer ferry flight requirements
  • Represent the organization on high-level technical and functional matters internally and externally
  • Develop and lead complex initiatives in support of business strategy
  • Ensure compliance with EASA, TCCA, and FAA regulations regarding Aircraft Operations at the US Manufacturing Site
  • Plan and review compensation and succession strategies
  • Maintain appropriate Flight Test qualifications
  • Manage all customer interfaces with the Flight Test team during the acceptance process
  • Oversee adherence to ethics and compliance standards
  • Enable change management, especially for production and delivery ramp-up
  • Celebrate significant achievements to promote team morale
  • Conduct duties in accordance with applicable Pilot/FTE/GTE job descriptions.
