Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • 15+ years' experience in engineering practice
  • 10+ years' related experience in engineering practice
  • 7+ years' experience in theme park related work
  • Ability to work through complex major decision making
  • Required on-site full-time work from NBCUniversal-designated worksite

  • 15+ years' experience in engineering practice
  • 10+ years' related experience in engineering practice

Job Duties

  • Perform engineering technical support to the Ride/Show project team or Core Engineering and Safety as assigned
  • Edit and update Show/ Ride engineering specifications
  • Review, edit, or develop test protocols, procedures, and plans
  • Execute, witness or approve testing and test results
  • Supervise and guide project technical personnel
  • Review vendor-provided design review documents including drawings, component selections, calculations, test plans, and results
  • Manage vendors through bidding, designing, manufacturing, testing, shipping, installation, start-up, and commissioning of Show/Ride systems
  • Ensure all equipment maintains the highest safety standards according to Universal specifications and local standards
  • Enforce Show and Ride technical and safety principles to provide quality products and necessary deliverables
  • Drive safety improvements and monitor compliance with regulations and internal standards
  • Make direct engineering contributions to projects
  • Interface with planning and development groups for park operations and new venue development
  • Drive technical improvements and supervise technical and safety personnel
  • Interface with Corporate Legal and Risk Management for safety-related issues
  • Review and approve contract and legal documents related to Show and Ride systems
  • Oversee ADA compliance for Shows and Rides
  • Act as Universal's principal Engineering contact with outside suppliers and manage technical interaction with vendors and contractors
  • Review and approve Universal licensee show and ride product compliance
  • Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
