Job Requirements

  • Experience maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in a high-volume kitchen or dining area
  • Experience operating custodial equipment including buffers, floor machines, power washers, blowers, and vacuum cleaners
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and sanitation protocols
  • Understanding of safe work practices, personal protective equipment, and safety data sheets
  • Ability to follow directions and comply with sanitation requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Dispose trash, compost, recyclables and other garbage from all dining areas
  • Clean containers, trash collection points and loading docks
  • Sweep, mop, strip, buff, wax and vacuum floors across various areas including kitchens, dining rooms, offices, and bathrooms
  • Maintain cleanliness in dining service bathrooms
  • Clean walls, baseboards, mats, drains, and vents
  • Wash pots, pans, utensils, and steam jacketed kettles
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as dish machines, floor scrubbers, and pot washers
  • Set up tables and chairs and resupply beverage machines during meal periods
  • Maintain positive customer relations and promptly address needs
  • Assist with daily, weekly, and special cleaning projects
  • Identify and solve cleaning and safety issues
  • Break down cardboard boxes
  • Safely use cleaning chemicals and follow sanitation procedures
  • Follow directions related to job responsibilities
