Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science information technology or related field preferred
- Minimum of five years of experience in SQL Server database administration
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Willingness to participate in on-call and after-hours support
- Eligibility to work onsite in Broomfield CO or ability to support remotely
- Familiarity with aviation industry regulations a plus
Job Qualifications
- At least five years of hands-on SQL Server administration experience
- Proficient in SQL Server installation configuration patching and schema management
- Skilled in performance tuning and query optimization
- Experienced in backup recovery and disaster recovery planning and testing
- Familiar with high availability solutions including clustering replication and Always On Availability Groups
- Ability to perform maintenance and upgrades with minimal downtime
- Experience providing on-call and after-hours database support
- Strong collaboration skills working with IT teams and stakeholders
- Microsoft SQL Server certifications like MCSA or Azure Database Administrator Associate preferred
- Knowledge of cloud database platforms such as Azure SQL or AWS RDS is a plus
- Experience with ETL processes or reporting support desirable
- Background in aviation or regulated industries advantageous
Job Duties
- Administer and maintain SQL Server databases ensuring optimal performance reliability and security
- Perform database installations configurations patching and version upgrades
- Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues to prevent downtime or disruptions
- Manage backups disaster recovery and high-availability configurations
- Support upcoming initiatives upgrades and system enhancements
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as needed
- Collaborate with application infrastructure and data teams to support business objectives
- Document processes configurations and maintenance activities
