Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of two years of experience in a kitchen leadership role
- proven ability to manage and supervise kitchen staff
- physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform other kitchen duties
- excellent communication skills
- customer-service oriented
- able to work flexible hours and shifts
- capable of obtaining required licenses or certifications
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience as a sous chef or similar position strongly preferred
- thorough knowledge of cooking techniques, menus, and recipes for the specific cuisine or style assigned
- ability to stand for the majority of a shift
- physical capability to perform grasping, reaching, bending, lifting, and kneeling
- excellent customer service and communication skills
- ability to obtain and maintain necessary licenses and certifications
Job Duties
- Personally and alongside staff, prepare meals according to established recipes and standards
- responsible for supervising and directing the work of the kitchen staff in assigned specialty restaurant
- handle personnel matters including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, evaluating, promoting, counseling, and discharging
- requisition stock according to business needs and pars
- ensure all food products meet quality standards and are properly stored and rotated
- maintain cleanliness and safety in kitchen, storage areas, and related spaces
- resolve customer complaints about food quality or preparation in a timely and appropriate manner
