Job Requirements

  • must be a US citizen
  • males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
  • must be suitable for federal employment
  • may be required to complete probationary period
  • must participate in direct deposit pay program
  • must have social security card
  • must complete employment verification (E-VERIFY)
  • must have favorable background check
  • must provide college transcripts with degree awarded or conferred
  • must possess or obtain CPR and first aid certification within 60 days
  • must possess or obtain automated external defibrillator certification within 60 days
  • must possess or obtain blood-borne pathogen training within 60 days
  • must possess or obtain Navy Basic Fitness Certification within 60 days

Job Qualifications

  • college degree in health, physical fitness or exercise physiology preferred
  • current group fitness certification
  • experience as aerobics or fitness instructor
  • knowledge of fitness equipment operation and maintenance
  • skill in planning and carrying out fitness programs
  • ability to conduct fitness testing
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • strong oral and written communication skills
  • ability to develop and deliver presentations and training

Job Duties

  • serve as a fitness instructor or personal trainer
  • conduct group fitness classes
  • develop and implement fitness programs
  • provide fitness testing and assessments
  • maintain and operate fitness equipment
  • prepare reports and deliver presentations
  • ensure safety and compliance within the fitness center
