Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 1 year of food service, customer service, or leadership experience preferred
- possession of a valid driver’s license
- ability to perform physical activities such as standing or walking for extended periods
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
- ability to work independently and in a team environment
- excellent time management skills
- strong customer-service orientation
- ability to complete City-provided Food Safety training prior to work
- ability to communicate effectively and maintain professionalism
- willingness to enforce park rules and address guest concerns
- ability to represent the department positively
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of previous food service, customer service, or leadership experience preferred
- valid State of Illinois driver’s license or equivalent
- minimum 2 years’ customer service experience preferred
- strong customer-service mindset
- ability to lead by example and coach staff
- excellent communication skills
- ability to remain calm and solution-oriented during busy situations
- ability to use computer hardware and common software applications
- ability to understand and comply with workplace rules
Job Duties
- Provide on-site leadership and guidance to seasonal part-time staff
- serve as a friendly liaison between the Parks and Recreation Department and park guests
- welcome guests and ensure a positive, enjoyable experience
- open and close park gates and secure fields and facilities
- monitor the complex, promote park rules, and address concerns professionally
- work closely with tournament directors, coaches, and officials to support successful events
- assist with supply transport and setup
- oversee concession and event staff and ensure food safety and cleanliness standards
- make recommendations regarding praise or discipline of employees
- complete food safety training
- prepare and serve food and beverages
- maintain clean and organized concession areas
- report maintenance concerns
- work independently and as part of a team
