Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year of food service, customer service, or leadership experience preferred
  • possession of a valid driver’s license
  • ability to perform physical activities such as standing or walking for extended periods
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • excellent time management skills
  • strong customer-service orientation
  • ability to complete City-provided Food Safety training prior to work
  • ability to communicate effectively and maintain professionalism
  • willingness to enforce park rules and address guest concerns
  • ability to represent the department positively

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of previous food service, customer service, or leadership experience preferred
  • valid State of Illinois driver’s license or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years’ customer service experience preferred
  • strong customer-service mindset
  • ability to lead by example and coach staff
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to remain calm and solution-oriented during busy situations
  • ability to use computer hardware and common software applications
  • ability to understand and comply with workplace rules

Job Duties

  • Provide on-site leadership and guidance to seasonal part-time staff
  • serve as a friendly liaison between the Parks and Recreation Department and park guests
  • welcome guests and ensure a positive, enjoyable experience
  • open and close park gates and secure fields and facilities
  • monitor the complex, promote park rules, and address concerns professionally
  • work closely with tournament directors, coaches, and officials to support successful events
  • assist with supply transport and setup
  • oversee concession and event staff and ensure food safety and cleanliness standards
  • make recommendations regarding praise or discipline of employees
  • complete food safety training
  • prepare and serve food and beverages
  • maintain clean and organized concession areas
  • report maintenance concerns
  • work independently and as part of a team
