Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one year of paid experience in recreation, sports or related fields coordinating and organizing sports activities
  • possession of or ability to obtain a valid California driver’s license
  • ability to work an irregular schedule including evenings and weekends
  • physical ability to perform duties including walking, bending, lifting up to seventy-five pounds
  • ability to occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions
  • willingness to pass pre-employment physical, live-scan, background and criminal history check

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one year of paid experience in recreation, sports or related fields coordinating and organizing sports activities
  • knowledge of principles of recreational programming and sports operations
  • skill in public contact and effective decision making
  • ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
  • experience in organizational planning and multitasking
  • knowledge of laws and regulations affecting community programs
  • good problem-solving skills and customer service orientation

Job Duties

  • Plan, organize, and monitor youth sports league programs and activities
  • plan, organize, and monitor adult sports programs and activities
  • organize and schedule sports leagues and tournaments such as softball and baseball
  • oversee facility operations and maintenance
  • manage and schedule contracted concession vendors
  • maintain accurate records within program areas
  • attend day, evening, and weekend meetings and events
  • monitor and maintain equipment and supplies inventory
  • prepare fields and facilities for recreational activities
