Job Requirements

  • Basic physical fitness to stand for long periods, lift heavy trays, pots, and perform repetitive tasks
  • Strong focus on maintaining hygiene standards and cleanliness
  • Ability to work well with kitchen staff and follow instructions
  • Efficiently manage time to ensure prompt dish cleaning especially during busy hours
  • Familiarity with dishwashing machines and safety procedures is a plus
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and ensure sanitary conditions
  • Ability to maintain efficiency during peak hours and in a fast-paced environment
  • Must obtain valid Utah Food Handlers Permit or Food Safety Manager Certificate

Job Duties

  • Washing dishes by scraping, rinsing, and loading into dishwashers or washing by hand
  • Maintaining proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures to meet health and safety standards
  • Organizing storage of clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment
  • Keeping dishwashing area clean, organized, and free of clutter
  • Emptying trash and recycling receptacles and ensuring proper disposal
  • Sweeping and mopping kitchen floors to maintain cleanliness
  • Assisting with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling vegetables or portioning food
  • Following food safety guidelines and sanitation procedures
  • Reporting sanitation or equipment issues to kitchen supervisor
  • Ensuring dishwashers are functioning properly and reporting malfunctions
  • Assisting with closing duties including sanitizing cooking and prep areas
  • Unloading and storing deliveries and maintaining dry storage areas
  • Cleaning and sanitizing storage areas including refrigerators and freezers
  • Assisting with other cleaning tasks as needed
