Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in sports or healthy lifestyle program coordination
  • Adult CPR and First Aid certification
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations
  • Flexibility to work assigned shifts including evenings or weekends
  • Commitment to the YMCA’s mission and values

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • College coursework preferred
  • Adult CPR and First Aid certification
  • Orientation to Healthy Living at the YMCA
  • Foundations of Listen First program knowledge
  • Principles of Member Health and Wellness
  • Applicable industry certifications
  • Completion of AS400 member management training within 90 days of hire
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work with participants of varying experience and skill levels
  • Foundations of Strength and Conditioning (if applicable)
  • Foundations of Group Exercise (if applicable)

Job Duties

  • Assist in the recruiting, scheduling, supervising, and evaluations of program staff
  • Provide outstanding hospitality to all members and guests acting as a proactive agent to accommodate member needs and concerns
  • Assist with the management of programs to maximize member satisfaction, revenue, and compliance with YMCA standards
  • Provide members with opportunities that increase involvement, belonging, and ownership of the YMCA
  • Assist in development, control and tracking of departmental budget in accordance with branch and Association guidelines
  • Research, facilitate and build quality programs that provide member satisfaction
  • Set annual priority objectives centered on improving service based on staff and customer feedback
  • Serve as a point of contact for all Sports & Healthy Lifestyles staff
  • Track and ensure that staff certifications are current and on file
  • Assist in scheduling, maintenance, and management of facility and equipment in partnership with the branch’s maintenance department
  • Execute administrative duties including tracking, reports, schedules, equipment, supplies, and payroll
  • Maintain required certifications and participate actively in training sessions and meetings
  • Have thorough knowledge of branch emergency procedures and take appropriate action for emergencies
  • Support community and promotional events as needed
  • Serve as branch Manager on Duty as assigned
