Job Requirements
- Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment or have been enrolled the preceding semester with plans to enroll in the next semester
- Have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average
- Be in good academic standing or have approval from the MAU Senior Student Services officer
- Provide evidence of enrollment
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
- Complete required trainings and attend regular staff meetings
- Pass a background check
Job Qualifications
- Training is provided for all tasks required of the position
- Previous experience as a barista is preferred
- Passion for providing excellent customer service
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Ability to arrive promptly to scheduled shifts
Job Duties
- Craft espresso and other specialty drinks
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Take orders and payments
- Provide excellent customer service
- Prepare food including chopping, packaging, and cooking food items
- Receive deliveries and ensure accuracy of delivery invoices
- Participate in special projects such as inventory, catering events, and detailed cleaning
