Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 24 months retail experience with minimum 12 months in a leadership role
- Food safety certification or willingness to complete certification within 6 months
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand or walk for 6 to 8 hours during an 8-hour workday
- Capability to perform motions including bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
- Ability to work in wet, cold, and varying temperature environments
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
- Ability to use tools and equipment such as box cutters and electric pallet jacks
- Completion of TIPS training if serving alcohol
- Must be at least 18 years old
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 24 months retail experience including at least 12 months of team leadership experience
- Advanced knowledge of products, buying, pricing, merchandising, and inventory management
- Food safety certification or commitment to obtain within 6 months
- Excellent interpersonal, motivational, and team building skills
- Thorough product knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures
- Proficient mathematical skills for financial performance assessment and inventory management
- Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, prioritization, and delegation abilities
- Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications
Job Duties
- Hold Associate Team Leaders, supervisors, and Team Members accountable for delivering outstanding customer service
- Define and develop clear expectations to achieve the highest standards of retail execution
- Effectively delegate to and empower Associate Team Leaders and Team Members
- Monitor and achieve sales, margin, expense, and labor targets
- Maintain proper product assortment, merchandising, and inventory control
- Ensure products are cross-merchandised following regional and global guidelines
- Ensure adherence to category management schedules and planograms
- Maintain compliance with regulatory rules and standards
- Foster a positive environment of teamwork, respect, and morale
- Select, train, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members
- Provide timely performance evaluations
- Communicate and model Whole Foods Market vision and goals
- Maintain Team Member safety and security standards
- Respond promptly to customer needs and questions
