Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing and walking for 6 to 8 hours in an 8-hour workday
  • hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • exposure to temperatures ranging from below 32 degrees Fahrenheit to above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters and electric pallet jacks
  • TIPS course completion where applicable
  • be 18 years or older to serve alcohol

Job Qualifications

  • Retail experience of 24 or more months with at least 12 months in team leadership
  • food safety certification or commitment to complete within six months
  • advanced knowledge of products, buying, pricing, merchandising, and inventory management
  • excellent interpersonal, motivational, and team-building skills
  • proficiency in email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications
  • demonstrated decision-making, leadership, and delegation abilities
  • thorough product knowledge
  • advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures
  • strong mathematical skills for financial assessment and inventory management
  • capable of teaching others constructively

Job Duties

  • Hold ATLs, supervisors, and Team Members accountable for delivering outstanding customer service
  • define and develop clear expectations to achieve the highest standards of retail execution
  • effectively delegate to and empower ATLs and Team Members
  • monitor and achieve sales, margin, expense, and labor targets
  • maintain proper product assortment, merchandising, and inventory control
  • ensure products are cross-merchandised according to regional and global guidelines
  • ensure adherence to category management schedule and planograms
  • maintain comprehensive knowledge of and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory rules and standards
  • foster and encourage a positive environment of teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale
  • respond promptly to customer needs and questions
  • select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members
  • communicate and maintain Team Member safety and security standards
  • provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations
  • consistently communicate and model WFM vision and goals
