Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Prior dairy experience
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to maintain active signage and pricing
  • Ability to handle cash and electronic transactions accurately
  • Good communication skills for responding to customers, coworkers, and vendors
  • Willingness to work in environments with heat, cold, humidity, and dust

Job Qualifications

  • Basic mathematics skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Prior dairy department experience
  • Ability to comprehend and provide clear verbal instructions
  • Experience with inventory management and merchandising
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards in food retail

Job Duties

  • Initiate and make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, discipline, promotion and evaluation of Dairy Department personnel
  • Orient and train new Dairy Department employees and retrain when necessary
  • Develop weekly labor schedules for Dairy Department for store manager approval
  • Maintain company standards for perishables and stay updated on all active safety procedures
  • Transport and stock goods within the department
  • Ensure health and safety codes compliance, check pricing and expiration, and maintain an organized department area
  • Check, record, and retain cooler/freezer temperatures and maintenance
  • Follow weekly display plan for case merchandising and ad promotion
  • Stay congruent with health and safety standards and hold knowledge of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and machines in the department
  • Order all dairy products and supplies from authorized vendors to minimize out-of-stocks and maintain desired turns
  • Comprehend and provide complex verbal instructions concerning store policy, procedures, and equipment usage
  • Supervise and perform organization of cooler/freezer/preparation area for receipt of merchandise, verify merchandise against invoices, inspect delivery for shortages or damages, sort cases for stocking or preparation, and code-date all items in the cooler/freezer
