Job Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate’s degree three (2) years in (culinary) in culinary field or appropriate continuing education experience and relevant work experience
  • Must have experience with various cooking duties including grilling and sauce preparation
  • Knowledge of HACCP/GMP and proper food handling policies
  • Ability to operate Chinese cuisine tandoor ovens and related cooking equipment
  • Strong physical ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 30 pounds
  • Flexibility to work different shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be punctual and able to follow instructions precisely
  • Valid food handler's certificate or equivalent
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in producing Chinese cuisine
  • Flexibility to perform assigned tasks independently or as part of a team
  • Formal training in food, safety

Job Duties

  • Experience in producing high-volume, high-quality food from menus
  • Must have experience with various cooking duties (grilling, preparing sauces, etc.)
  • Operating a traditional Chinese cuisine tandoor oven, cooking such items as meat and breads
  • Preparing Chinese cuisine curries, sauces, and desserts as per standard and style set by the Head Chef(s)
  • Regulating temperatures of tandoor, ovens, grills, burners/pans, and other cooking equipment
  • Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of traditional Chinese cuisine including desserts
  • Ensure the correct preparation and presentation standard of the dishes is always maintained
  • Demonstrating tandoor techniques and cooking procedures to other staff if require
  • Storing food in temperature-controlled freezers
  • Checking on food supplies and advising the supervisor of any requirements
  • Knowledge of HACCP/GMP is a plus, must comply with proper food handling policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by management
