Job Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate's degree
  • two years in culinary field or appropriate continuing education experience and relevant work experience
  • experience in producing high-volume, high-quality food
  • must have experience with various cooking duties including grilling and preparing sauces
  • knowledge of HACCP/GMP
  • ability to work under time constraints
  • flexibility to work different shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • strong physical ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch and lift up to 30 pounds
  • constant attention to detail and accuracy
  • punctuality and reliability
  • valid food handler's certificate or equivalent

  • Experience in producing Chinese cuisine

Job Duties

  • Experience in producing high-volume, high-quality food from menus
  • must have experience with various cooking duties - (grilling, preparing sauces, etc.)
  • operating a traditional Chinese cuisine tandoor oven, cooking such items as meat and breads
  • preparing Chinese cuisine curries, sauces, and desserts as per standard and style set by the Head Chef(s)
  • regulating temperatures of tandoor, ovens, grills, burners/pans, and other cooking equipment
  • able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of traditional Chinese cuisine including desserts
  • ensure the correct preparation and presentation standard of the dishes is always maintained
  • demonstrating tandoor techniques and cooking procedures to other staff if require
  • storing food in temperature-controlled freezers
  • checking on food supplies and advising the supervisor of any requirements
  • knowledge of HACCP/GMP is a plus, must comply with proper food handling policies and procedures
