Job Duties
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning and chopping
- Defrost food items by removing them from the freezer to refrigerator
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or criteria
- Cook food following recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines
- Control food quality by tasting, smelling, or testing to ensure sufficient cooking
- Portion and serve food appropriately with proper presentation
- Use kitchen utensils safely and appropriately
- Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment
- Monitor temperatures of appliances and food items
- Report any items that do not meet specifications to the manager
- Communicate and request assistance during busy periods
- Follow company policies and safety procedures, reporting accidents or unsafe conditions
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance
- Greet and acknowledge guests respectfully according to company standards
- Use clear and professional language in communication
- Support team goals and appropriately address employee concerns
- Stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods
- Lift and move objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors
