Job Duties

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning and chopping
  • Defrost food items by removing them from the freezer to refrigerator
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or criteria
  • Cook food following recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines
  • Control food quality by tasting, smelling, or testing to ensure sufficient cooking
  • Portion and serve food appropriately with proper presentation
  • Use kitchen utensils safely and appropriately
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment
  • Monitor temperatures of appliances and food items
  • Report any items that do not meet specifications to the manager
  • Communicate and request assistance during busy periods
  • Follow company policies and safety procedures, reporting accidents or unsafe conditions
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance
  • Greet and acknowledge guests respectfully according to company standards
  • Use clear and professional language in communication
  • Support team goals and appropriately address employee concerns
  • Stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors
