Job Duties

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking such as portioning, chopping, and storing
  • Remove food from freezer and thaw in refrigerator
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal criteria
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and checklist
  • Monitor food quality during preparation
  • Taste dishes to check doneness by tasting, smelling, or probing with utensils
  • Ensure portion size, plating, and food garnishing are correct
  • Serve food in appropriate portions and containers
  • Use kitchen utensils safely and appropriately
  • Wash and sanitize kitchen area, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment
  • Check and ensure correct temperatures of appliances and food
  • Notify manager of any products not meeting specifications
  • Communicate any assistance needed during high workload periods
  • Follow all safety and company policies and procedures
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions
  • Attend safety training and obtain safety certifications
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance
  • Greet and acknowledge guests following company standards
  • Speak clearly and professionally when communicating with others
  • Support the team to meet common goals
  • Listen and respond appropriately to co-worker concerns
  • Ensure compliance with quality expectations and standards
  • Stand, walk, or sit for prolonged periods
  • Move, lift, transport, push, pull, and place objects up to 10 pounds without assistance
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors
