Job Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate's degree or two years of culinary education or equivalent continuing education and relevant work experience
  • experience in producing high-volume, high-quality food
  • must have experience with various cooking duties such as grilling and preparing sauces
  • knowledge and ability to operate a Chinese cuisine tandoor oven
  • thorough understanding of traditional Chinese cuisine including desserts
  • knowledge of HACCP/GMP and compliance with food handling policies
  • valid food handler's certificate or equivalent
  • ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds regularly
  • ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch as required
  • ability to work under time constraints and multi-task
  • punctuality and responsibility for performance
  • ability to follow instructions and management direction
  • flexibility to work different shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in producing Chinese cuisine
  • flexibility to perform assigned tasks independently or as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Produce high-volume, high-quality food from menus
  • perform various cooking duties such as grilling and preparing sauces
  • operate Chinese cuisine tandoor oven for cooking meat and breads
  • prepare Chinese cuisine curries, sauces, and desserts according to Head Chef standards
  • regulate temperatures of tandoor, ovens, grills, burners/pans, and other cooking equipment
  • demonstrate thorough understanding of traditional Chinese cuisine including desserts
  • ensure correct preparation and presentation standards of dishes
  • demonstrate tandoor techniques and cooking procedures to other staff if required
  • store food in temperature-controlled freezers
  • check food supplies and advise supervisor of requirements
  • comply with food safety policies and procedures including knowledge of HACCP/GMP
  • perform other duties as assigned by management
