Job Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate's degree or two years of experience in the culinary field or appropriate continuing education and relevant work experience
  • experience in high-volume food production
  • must have knowledge of cooking techniques related to Chinese cuisine
  • valid food handler's certificate or equivalent
  • ability to work different shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • compliance with food safety guidelines
  • ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in producing Chinese cuisine
  • flexibility to perform assigned tasks independently or as part of a team
  • formal training in food safety and regulatory compliance is a plus

  • ability to accurately monitor food preparation

Job Duties

  • Experience in producing high-volume, high-quality food from menus
  • must have experience with various cooking duties such as grilling and preparing sauces
  • operating a traditional Chinese cuisine tandoor oven, cooking items such as meat and breads
  • preparing Chinese cuisine curries, sauces, and desserts as per standards
  • regulating temperatures of tandoor, ovens, grills, burners/pans, and other cooking equipment
  • demonstrate a thorough understanding of traditional Chinese cuisine including desserts
  • ensure correct preparation and presentation standards of dishes are maintained
  • demonstrate tandoor techniques and cooking procedures to other staff as required
  • storing food in temperature-controlled freezers
  • checking food supplies and advising the supervisor of any requirements
  • comply with proper food handling policies and procedures including knowledge of HACCP/GMP
