Job Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate's degree or equivalent in culinary field or relevant experience
  • experience with high-volume food production
  • proficiency in grilling, sauce preparation, and operating Chinese tandoor oven
  • knowledge of Chinese cuisine and desserts
  • ability to regulate cooking equipment temperatures
  • understanding of food safety standards including HACCP/GMP
  • valid food handler's certificate
  • ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, holidays
  • physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 30 pounds
  • effective communication and teamwork skills
  • punctuality and adherence to safety procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in producing Chinese cuisine
  • flexibility to perform tasks independently or as part of a team
  • formal training in food safety and regulatory compliance preferred

Job Duties

  • Produce high-volume, high-quality food from menus
  • perform various cooking duties including grilling and sauce preparation
  • operate traditional Chinese tandoor oven for meats and breads
  • prepare Chinese curries, sauces, and desserts as per standards
  • regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, burners, and other cooking equipment
  • demonstrate a thorough understanding of traditional Chinese cuisine including desserts
  • ensure proper preparation and presentation standards are maintained
  • demonstrate tandoor techniques and cooking procedures to other staff when required
  • store food in temperature-controlled freezers
  • monitor food supplies and advise supervisor of requirements
  • comply with HACCP/GMP and food safety policies
  • perform other duties as assigned by management
