Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • 2 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • Ability to lead and manage kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Strong communication skills
  • Capability to manage budgets and set kitchen goals
  • Proficient in menu development and food preparation
  • Ability to handle guest feedback and complaints
  • Experience with employee coaching and training
  • Willingness to work full time
  • Availability to work scheduled shifts at Tampa, Florida location.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 2 years experience
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and train team members
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Experience managing kitchen operations and budgets
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to design and develop menus
  • Capability to maintain high customer service standards
  • Proficiency in supervising staff and managing daily kitchen workflow
  • Understanding of labor laws and safety regulations
  • Ability to handle guest complaints professionally and effectively.

Job Duties

  • Develops, designs, or creates new culinary applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products for specialty restaurant
  • Supervises specialty restaurant kitchen shift operations ensuring compliance with all food and beverage policies
  • Maintains proper food preparation, handling, and storage standards
  • Plans and manages food quantities and plating requirements
  • Communicates production needs to key personnel
  • Assists in developing daily and seasonal menu items
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Prepares and cooks foods regularly or for special guests/functions
  • Checks quality of raw and cooked food products
  • Determines food presentation and creates decorative food displays
  • Supervises and coordinates cooks and food preparation workers
  • Leads shift teams while preparing food items
  • Manages specialty restaurant kitchen employees and day-to-day operations
  • Encourages mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • Ensures employees are cross-trained and understand expectations
  • Establishes collaborative relationships within the team
  • Sets and supports achievement of kitchen, budget, and team goals
  • Develops plans to prioritize and accomplish daily kitchen operations
  • Investigates and follows-up on employee accidents
  • Ensures safety standards are met
  • Provides exceptional customer service and manages guest satisfaction
  • Handles guest complaints and obtains feedback
  • Coaches and mentors staff
  • Participates in hiring and employee performance appraisals
  • Uses on-the-job training tools
  • Attends and participates in pertinent meetings
