Job Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • considerable experience in special event support
  • experience operating sound and lighting equipment for events
  • possession of valid Class B Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • completion of NIMS ICS 100 and ICS 700 training
  • ability to perform medium to heavy physical work
  • ability to work flexible schedules including weekends
  • ability to pass drug testing and background checks

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • considerable experience in special event support, especially in sound and lighting
  • knowledge of equipment and supplies needed for special events
  • knowledge of sound and lighting equipment
  • ability to operate sound and lighting equipment effectively

  • ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Job Duties

  • Determines needs for special events and obtains the required equipment and supplies
  • operates sound and light equipment in support of Town events such as concerts, media conferences or athletic events
  • conducts inventories of equipment and supplies
  • takes down equipment after events and cleans up
  • sets up traffic pattern according to instructions from the police department
  • determines what is required for the event and assigns costs for personnel, supplies and equipment
  • provides accurate work order data at the completion of each event
  • assists other divisions as needed
  • manages other personnel assisting with the event
  • picks up trash and debris from grounds
  • maintains equipment and performs preventative maintenance
  • works with hazardous weather response team for snow, ice and debris removal
  • performs other job-related tasks as required
