Job Requirements
- Degree in recreation or related field
- two years experience in developing, implementing and promoting special events and activities, or any combination of education and experience equivalent
- valid Texas driver’s license
- CPR/1st Aid certification or ability to obtain certification within 30-days of employment

Job Duties
- Develop, implement and promote a variety of special events and activities for the community
- solicit sponsorships from businesses and corporations to offset event expenses
- seek partnerships and maintain existing partner relationships to allow for the sharing of resources
- interact and coordinate with other agencies and civic organizations for innovative and creative events and activities
- prepare flyers, brochures, news releases, website updates, and other promotional materials as part of a comprehensive marketing strategy for events and activities
- communicate effectively and courteously with customers, vendors, media and staff in person, in writing, via e-mail or telephone
- recruit, train, schedule, motivate, monitor and evaluate seasonal, contractual and volunteer staff
