Job Requirements

  • Valid Texas Driver License
  • Must obtain a State of Texas Driver License within 6 months if holding an out-of-state license
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish
  • Ability to comply with all City of Laredo's policies and procedures
  • Ability to maintain good health and physical condition
  • Must pass thorough background check and drug and alcohol test
  • Ability to perform strenuous and routine work
  • Ability to maintain a good driving record
  • Ability to project a positive and professional image of the City of Laredo

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Texas Driver License
  • Strong communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of event tracking for budgetary purposes
  • Knowledge of city policies for all departments
  • Skill in public speaking
  • Skill in multitasking and organization
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to take and follow directions from supervisor

Job Duties

  • Manage all special events for the City as well as subordinate staff to support events and identify all expenses, fees and costs associated with the events
  • Communicate with customers and/or clients to initiate an event program and coordinate with all necessary departments to identify needs, requirements, costs and availability of their services
  • Schedule planning meetings to organize and delegate tasks as well as follow through to ensure all details have been addressed, planned and coordinated
  • Meet and coordinate with various companies and vendors to negotiate sponsorship packages favorable to both city and client
  • Drive a City vehicle for city business use
  • Perform other duties as assigned
